THOSE dark and harsh winter afternoons at Aberdeen FC’s Pittodrie stadium, which football writers from the Central Belt so often try to avoid, are about to become worse.
The club has decided that the media room where reporters gather for the post-match interviews and from where they compose their prose and file their copy, is now needed for the overspill from the adjacent players’ lounge.
This means that, once quotes are gathered, scribes must then make their way back to the back row seats at the far end of the main stand, and continue their work in what are often inhospitable weather conditions.
