AN online commercial property newspaper – believed to be the first of its kind in Britain – launched last year by three Scottish journalists is proving to be a runaway success.
After just ten months since its launch, CompropScotland has broken through the one million hits barrier.
The success crowns a period of rapid growth in readership during which the website has achieved new records in terms of hits for a single day (Friday, June 29, with a total of 24,329 hits); a single week (June 24-30 with 40,999 hits); and a single month (June, with 185,065 hits).
With a new issue published on Thursday nights, Fridays achieve more than 50 per cent of each week’s hits.
Stewart McIntosh and Jim Dow, two of the partners in the venture, reckon that the website should reach two million hits by the end of this year. Ken Houston makes up the trio.
Subscribers include commercial agents, developers, lawyers, architects, bankers, investors, architects and public sector professionals.
