A FORMER managing director of stv has launched an independent TV production company, with already a couple of projects said to be ‘in development’.
Yesterday, Sandy Ross officially announced his departure from stv and its parent company, SMG – after 21 years. These last couple of years, he was manging director of SMG’s international development division.
While remaining tight-lipped about the projects he is involved with, save to say he has “a couple in development”, he predicted that his work will extend beyond TV into the internet and perhaps even the theatre.
A couple of job offers would have meant moving to London, which he has rejected in favour of remaining in Edinburgh and launching, instead, MurrayfieldMedia.
Ross is chair of BAFTA Scotland and also the Salford Conference on Television from the Nations and Regions.
