SCOTLAND’S only commercial speech radio station, talk107, has signed up, as a guest presenter, the writer and broadcaster, Dominik Diamond – just a few days after he was let go, allegedly on cost grounds, from another Scottish station.
From Monday, Diamond will guest present the Drivetime show with regular presenter, Heather Dee, before switching to present Breakfast a fortnight later.
The coup for the Edinburgh-based station is Xfm Scotland’s loss.
In addition to Diamond joining talk107, Stephen Jardine, best known as stv’s main news and current affairs presenter, will also be a guest presenter on the station when he joins Karen Bremner on Breakfast from a week on Monday.
Peter Gillespie, talk107 station director, said: “The holiday period always provides the opportunity to try out some new names and we are delighted that Dominik and Stephen will be joining the station while our regular presenter’s are holidaying at Burntisland.
“Both are proven talents and are known for expressing their opinions so it should make for an interesting few weeks. The addition of two established and well know broadcasters further shows our continuing investment in talented presenters as we know that’s what our growing audience want to hear.”
