A LIBERAL Democrat MP has added her name to the protest against budget cuts at the Herald group of newspapers, including writing to the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry.
Jo Swinson, MP for East Dunbartonshire, says she has also written to the group about the impact of a proposed budget cut of between two and three million pounds.
Already, applications for voluntary redundancy at The Herald, Sunday Herald and Evening Times newspapers have been accepted.
An ePetition set up the National Union of Journalists focusses on assurances made by the papers’ owners when it purchased the group four years ago.
