THE managing director of the Daily Record and Sunday Mail newspapers has been appointed to the top, decision-making body of the papers’ publishers.
Mark Hollinshead has accepted an invitation to join the Trinity Mirror Executive Committee, with chief executive, Sly Bailey, saying of him: “Mark has impressed me and his colleagues with the way in which he has tackled the challenges of the Scottish market.”
She adds: “In view of his performance and potential, I have decided to invite Mark to join the group’s Executive Committee where he can make a wider contribution to strategic and policy related matters at group level in addition to his continuing performance in Scotland.”
Two months ago, a free, evening edition of the Daily Record was launched in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow – having previously been for sale at 10p in only Edinburgh and Glasgow.
