ON Thursday, it was toasting a contender for Scoop of the Year; next day, the Daily Record was celebrating a narrowing of the sales gap between it and the country’s best-selling daily newspaper, The Scottish Sun.
The scoop – by political editor, Magnus Gardham – was the leaked internal memo from Scotland’s only Tory MP, David Mundell, where he described his fellow Scottish Tories as ‘clueless’.
