A RECENTLY-appointed non-executive director of The Scotsman owners, Johnston Press, made a visit to the paper’s HQ on Friday, prompting one or two staff to enquire as to the whereabouts of sister paper, Scotland on Sunday’s business editor, Terry Murden.
In Murden’s capable hands, business reporting is far from an exercise in slavish sycophancy.
But on Friday, he could have been forgiven for keeping a low profile: the said non-exec director having recently been the subject of an article by him.
