IT just got a bit sharper on the ‘street of shame’, with a price war breaking out among the English papers with tartan editions.
The Scottish Daily Mail has slashed its cover price to 20p. South of the border, the paper will cost 45p.
It would appear to be a pre-emptive shot in the direction of The Times, which plans to launch its own be-kilted edition later this year.
Spike understands that initial plans for the new Scottish Times to hit the newstands before the May election are now in doubt, with July touted as a possible start date.
