ONLY An Excuse?, Still Game and Jackie Bird presenting live from Edinburgh Castle – the Christmas and New Year ‘treats’ from BBC Scotland and BBC Radio Scotland have just been announced.
One of the more intriguing offerings is from BBC Radio Scotland, being broadcast on the 27th.
Says the pre-publicity: “In ‘Day of Scottish Comedy’, well-known comedian, Armando Ianucci, goes back to his comedic roots when he listens to some of the sketches he created whilst working for BBC Radio Scotland.
“They haven’t been aired for 20 years, so Armando may display a fatherly pride in his youthful efforts – or he may be left cringing at the memory.”
