TWO of Scotland’s best-known comedians, Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill, yesterday officially opened their new studio facilities, as part of the continuing expansion of their own production company, Effingee Productions.
And as luck would have it, the opening coincided with the studio being used for arguably their best-known comedy vehicle, Still Game – filming taking place right now for a special edition of the programme, being broadcast on Hogmanay.
The company is said to be also hopeful that its new studios – in Glasgow’s Hillington industrial estate – will be welcoming the filming of six episodes of Dear Green Place, which successfully piloted on BBC Scotland earlier this year, picking up a BAFTA Scotland award – for Best Entertainment – in the processs.
The facilities will also be for hire.
