Scots trio in awards triumph

ACTORS, Kate Dickie and Tony Curran, both from the hit, Glasgow-set movie, Red Road, have emerged victorious in awards celebrating British independent movies – along with Scots director, Kevin Macdonald.

The trio triumphed at the ninth British Independent Film Awards, held in London and which, among other things, honoured the work of actors Jim Broadbent and Helen Mirren, plus director, Ken Loach.

Macdonald, director of the award-winning mountaineering movie, Touching the Void, scooped his prize for The Last King of Scotland.
