IT’S a showcase of TV and film clips made by producers and directors based in Edinburgh.
But a DVD to be launched next week has neither commissioning editors nor members of the public principally in its sights.
Instead, it’s local and national politicians plus public funding agencies that is the main intended audience for the DVD, its making a rallying call that Edinburgh may not be as big or busy a TV and film production centre as its rival, Glasgow, but it is still vibrant, nevertheless – and therefore in occasional need of public support, including premises.
The ‘best of’ compilation has been put together by the Edinburgh Producers’ Group – which meets monthly to discuss issues of common concern and was founded by Edinburgh Film Focus, which receives public funding to promote Edinburgh as a location for TV and film productions.
