THE successor to Paisley-based radio station, Q96, has been given a launch date.
Specialising in ‘classic rock’, 96.3 Rock Radio is to launch on January 8 next year.
It follows a takeover, in June, of Q96 by the owners of Real Radio Scotland, GMG Radio.
The new station will broadcast across Renfrewshire, Glasgow and Dunbartonshire on FM and available across the wider west of Scotland area as a digital signal.
The station will continue to broadcast local news, but no longer from Paisley. Broadcasting regulators, Ofcom, have given permission that the station can operate from the studios of Real Radio.
