BOASTING a haul of 17 awards and a dozen commendations, Edinburgh-based advertising Union has, not surprisingly, been named Agency of the Year at this year’s Scottish Advertising Awards.
The company – whose clients include Baxters Food Group, Scottish Executive, Historic Scotland, ESPC, Blackwood’s Gin, Freedom of Information Commissioner, North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service and Ash Yorkshire – also picked up the Chairman’s Award, rounding off a night where it dominated proceedings.
Says Ian McAteer, the agency’s group chair: “We won awards for a wide range of clients, in most forms of media, and involving all our creative and account teams. It’s a massive endorsement of the quality and excellence we always aim for, and I’m absolutely delighted.
“Our clients deserve the plaudits – they buy brave work, and they get the results they are looking for. To win Agency of the Year in our tenth year is the icing on the cake.”
Added Andrew Lindsay, creative director: “We honestly didn’t expect this. We’re always aiming for quality and consistency, and trying to set high standards – but you never quite know what the benchmark is. It’s really pleasing to see our work recognised in this way, it lets everyone in the agency know that we must be doing something right.”
