THE website of The Scotsman newspaper has been chosen as the best daily newspaper website in the UK, with the publisher’s rivals in the west, Newsquest – behind The Herald, Sunday Herald and Evening Times – not to be outdone in the prizes being handed out by the Newspaper Society at its advertising and digital media awards ceremony.
It’s the third time in five years that www.scotsman.com has won the Newspaper Society’s Best Daily Newspaper Internet Site title.
Says Alistair Brown, general manager of scotsman.com: “scotsman.com is once again recognised as being head and shoulders above the competition. Its core team have consistently delivered quality across every discipline: editorial, development, design and sales. This award reflects that history of excellence.”
Adds Stewart Kirkpatrick, the editor of scotsman.com: “This award recognises the tradition of innovation at scotsman.com. From producing the first video podcast by a UK newspaper site to allowing readers to comment on nearly every story, we have constantly striven to give our users the best possible product.”
