JOURNALISTS and members of the general public wishing to pay their respects to the Russian journalist, Anna Politkovskaya, who was shot dead on Saturday, can do so in Edinburgh in a fortnight’s time.
The Scottish branch of Amnesty International is holding a vigil at 2pm on Tuesday, the 24th of this month, outside the Russian Consulate General at 58 Melville Street, in the capital.
Amnesty International Scotland is proposing to hand in a letter to the Consul-General asking for a thorough investigation into her death.
Anna spoke at the Edinburgh International Book Festival last year, about her work investigating crimes in Chechnya.
