RADIO Clyde’s sports presenter, Peter Martin, will no doubt make sure he attends his next football pre-match press conference in less of a rush and slightly more prepared – thanks to something of a clanger on Friday.
With an interview with Celtic’s Craig Beattie to do, and after having arrived later than rival stations, Martin dived right in, to ask what Beattie thought of the Aberdeen team.
With a knowing smile, flashed to the other hacks in the room, Beattie said they were a good team and were hard to beat on their own patch. And then he added: “Falkirk are a good team too,” referring to Celtic’s actual next opponents.
And Spike hears that a presenter on Real Radio Scotland, the following morning, was heard saying, “And Falkirk host Selkirk.”
Certainly, that’s what her co-presenter thought she had said, enjoying her seeming misfortune.
