WELCOME to Media Movers, reporting the latest moves within the Scottish media, including promotions and retirements.
FIRSTLY, congratulations to Bob Dow, a former Aberdeen bureau chief at the Daily Record: he has been named communications manager for Major Events and Major Incidents at Police Scotland.
He was previously North Local Policing communications manager at Police Scotland. He will remain based in Aberdeen but will be working across the country. His successor is Becky Hunter, who is the West Local Policing communications manager in Glasgow.
Meanwhile, Carolynne Coole-Miller, currently the Police Scotland marketing campaigns and social media manager, has been appointed the new Local Policing communications manager for the West and Lisa McGrann has started as the new Local Policing communications manager for the East, based in Edinburgh. She was previously with Norfolk Police, latterly with this year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Joanne Holms has also joined from the Scottish Police Authority as Change communications manager.

AS already reported here on allmediascotland.com, a newspaper editor, believed to be Britain’s longest-serving, is stepping down after almost 40 years in the post.
Drew Cochrane is quoted in his paper, the Largs & Millport Weekly News, saying he was aged just 22 when appointed editor in October 1974.

A similar promotion has also been made in the east, this time involving the editor of the East Lothian Courier, Robbie Scott.
In addition, Keith McIntyre – up until now managing director of RMG’s business in Berkshire as well as group marketing director – has been promoted to publishing director and appointed to the board of RMG, along with current digital head, Mike Barclay who is promoted to group commercial director.
