A COMMUNICATIONS contract on behalf of two local organisations – one involved with economics, the other transport – has been won by the communications team at Aberdeenshire Council – their first ever.
Following a competitive tender, the contract – on behalf of ACSEF (Aberdeen City and Shire Economic Future) and Nestrans (North East Scotland Transport Partnership) – went to Aberdeenshire Council’s Customer Communication and Improvement Service.
The team will provide PR, marketing and event management. The contract is for two years with an option to extend for a further year.
In an Aberdeenshire Council media release, head of Customer Communication and Improvement, Kate Bond, is quoted, as saying: “I’m very proud of the team for putting together a tender which showed exactly why the public sector could deliver best value using the best, most up-to-date communications practice.
“The contract was heavily weighted to take the quality of the submission into account, with price being secondary. We feel we won this entirely on the merits of what we intend to do to increase the profile of both organisations and engagement by businesses and the public, whilst also delivering excellent value for money.”
