THE Edinburgh office an UK-wide PR agency has taken on a broadcast-journalist-turned-PR-practitioner as a senior account manager.
Brian O’Neill has been appointed at Citypress.
He joins from Halogen Communications – also based in the capital – which he joined two years ago, after more than a decade presenting and reporting for, among others, Sky News and ITV News.
He was an account manager at Halogen.
Says a Citypress media release: “The appointment is part of the agency’s plans to expand its new operation in Scotland. Citypress opened its Edinburgh office in November last year with the appointment of ex-BIG Partnership account director, Beth Nicol, as head of Scotland.
“Its team also includes ex-editor of the Scottish Mirror, Crawford Brankin, who joined the company after it purchased his PR operation JCB Consultancy in August last year. Brankin previously held the position of operations director at Beattie Media in Glasgow.”
Nicol is quoted, as saying: “Brian adds significant broadcast media experience to our team in Scotland. He is an experienced operator, with in-depth knowledge of the media both in Scotland and across the rest of the UK. He adds real insight to our client programmes at a time of growth for Citypress in Scotland.”
Citypress is headquartered in Manchester and has offices in Birmingham, London and Bristol, employing over 50 people. It currently provides consultancy to clients including Lloyds Banking Group including Lloyds TSB and Bank of Scotland, Brother UK, food and drink group Princes, Weir Minerals and HEROtsc.
