THE new Edinburgh office of a leading PR agency is to be run by a former account director at well-known Scots outfit, The BIG Partnership.
Beth Nicol is to head the Edinburgh office of Citypress, which has offices in London, Birmingham and Manchester.
Operating from the capital’s Causewayside district, Citypress has also recruited an ex-editor of the Scottish Mirror, Crawford Brankin, as a consultant, after it purchased his PR operation, JCB Consultancy, in August. Brankin previously held the position of operations director at Beattie Media.
Says a Citypress media release: “A consultancy team is currently being recruited to service the agency’s clients from its new Edinburgh base.”
It continues: “Prior to The BIG Partnership, Nicol was an account director at MHP Communications in London, where she successfully managed high-profile global media campaigns. Her client experience includes campaigns for the Adecco Group, Institute of Directors Scotland, GVA, Scottish and Southern Energy and the Greek Government amongst others.”
The media release quotes Citypress managing director, Charles Tattersall, as saying: “We have gradually built our client base in Scotland over the past three years, supported by JCB Consultancy and a strong freelance network. It was a natural move to acquire JCB this summer and retain Crawford to work alongside us to further develop our business in Edinburgh.
“The launch of the Edinburgh office is the latest development in our long-term strategy of building an UK network, which saw us open Citypress Birmingham 18 months ago. The appointment of Beth Nicol and the development of a new agency team in Scotland is a signal of our ambition to expand and create new jobs in Edinburgh.”
