A FORMER head of communications at Friends of the Earth Scotland – who then took charge of the organisation on an interim basis during the summer – is taking up a press and public affairs posting at the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations.
Davina Shiell has been named press and public affairs manager at the SFHA, covering for Claire Munro for the next ten months, who is taking maternity leave.
Shiell – who is also a former communications manager at British Council Scotland – will be undertaking her new role on a part-time basis to allow her to complete a Diploma in Digital Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
At Friends of the Earth Scotland, she was interim director during the summer following the departure of chief executive, Stan Blackley, to become deputy director of communities for the campaign urging a Yes vote at the upcoming referendum on Scottish independence, in two years’ time.
She declined to apply for the post on a more permanent basis.
