A FORMER group marketing director at Trinity Mirror – the publishers of, among others, the Daily Record and Sunday Mail newspapers – has been appointed by a Glasgow-based communications agency.
Lorraine Fraser has joined Incentive Media, to head up its PR and social media division, her start coinciding with the company winning the contract to market The Ideal Home Show which is making a return to Scotland this year following a three-year absence. Incentive is a recent winner in the HSBC Start-Up Stars Scotland contest.
She left Trinity Mirror in April, following a re-organisation of the company. She had previously worked at News International in Scotland, where she was circulation manager for The Scottish Sun, Scottish News of the World, The Times and the Sunday Times Scotland.
Fraser had been providing consultancy for Incentive since August, but she has now taken a permanent post, as a director. Before joining News International, she was a Petty Officer in the Royal Navy.
In a statement issued by Incentive Media, owner, Susie Fraser, said: “I am delighted to have someone of Lorraine’s calibre on board. She has immense experience and a keen insight into the market place. This, along with her strategic vision and boundless energy, makes her a huge asset to the company.”
Lorraine Fraser is also quoted, as saying: “Incentive Media are a dynamic and growing PR and marketing agency who have huge ambition and drive. I spent a great ten years in the Navy, 11 fantastic years in newspapers and now to be given the opportunity to join Susie as a director at Incentive Media was one that I could not resist.”
