Media release training brochure added to AMS

A NEW, free training resource on how to craft the perfect media release – something journalists on the receiving end of releases will likely welcome – has been uploaded on to allmediascotland.com.

Written by allmediascotland and designed by Gerry Cassidy, a former assistant features editor at the Daily Record, the resource is available for free to subscribers of the site’s media release posting service.

Using ‘turnpage technology’ – to create an online brochure with pages ‘that turn’ – the training comprises advice on, among other things, the writing of an effective opening paragraph and on the use of embargoes.

The brochure replaces a set of PDFs which have been available to subscribers for over a year.

After leaving the Record six years ago, Cassidy co-founded the award-winning publishing and design agency, Planet Ink, which he and co-founder, Shaun Milne, then wound up two years ago.

He is behind Scotland’s first fully bilingual magazine for Poles living in Scotland – Scotsbarszcz – which is available both in print and online.
