Battle Looming to be Named 'Brand of the Future'

A feature article in The Scotsman newspaper and £8000 worth of business support awaits the winner of a marketing competition set to run next week.

Six emerging Scottish businesses will compete in a ‘Dragons Den’-style final at the inaugural Edinburgh International Marketing Festival in a bid to be named ‘Brand of the Future’.

Hosted by writer and broadcaster, Simon Fanshawe, the event has been tipped to be one of the highlights of the brand new festival set up to focus on the future of the marketing industry.

The winner – selected by an expert panel, including the likes of Bill Jamieson, executive editor at The Scotsman, and Nicki Sturzaker, head of Edinburgh operations for PR agency, The Big Partnership – can look forward to £8000 worth of marketing services from leading agencies as well as coverage in the Edinburgh-based paper.

Included in the final line-up, which has been whittled down from close to 60 entrants, are an environmentally-friendly product design company and a website that uses story-telling as a technique for learning languages.

Tickets for ‘Brands of the Future’, which will run in Assembly Hall on the Mound, Edinburgh next Monday from 10.30am to 12 noon, are still available. For more details, see www.eimfest.com
