THE former editor of The Herald, Charles McGhee, is to head a public sector team for one of Scotland’s best-known PR agencies.
McGhee’s appointment at Beattie Communications co-incides with the launch of agency’s new public sector website – www.BeattiePS.com
Says McGhee: “I am delighted to be joining Beattie Communications. The agency is extremely well-equipped to expand its footprint in the public sector.
“Our long-established experience in this sector, coupled with an extensive range of services spanning PR, web marketing, advertising, media buying, direct mail and a specialist team of careers counsellors, gives us an all-embracing and unrivalled client offering.
“Our aim will be to give public sector organisations real value for money, and I’m sure the competition will be good for everyone.”
As well as editing The Herald, Charles was an award-winning editor of Glasgow’s Evening Times and acted as consultant editor for the launch of the Sunday Herald. He is also a past president of the UK Society of Editors and a former member of Britain’s press watchdog, the Press Complaints Commission.
