A FORMER head of public affairs for the Federation of Small Businesses (Scotland) has been appointed in a similar role at the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations.
John Downie’s remit will include communications, plus campaigns, policy and research. He succeeds Lucy McTernan, who has been made deputy chief executive of SCVO.
One of Downie’s first tasks will be to interview for a new communications manager, following the departure of former MSP, Mark Ballard, who is now with children’s charity, Barnardo’s.
