Man reportedly arrested and charged of perjury during Sheridan trial

A 39 year-old man is said to have been arrested and charged of having committed perjury during the trial two years ago of the former MSP, Tommy Sheridan.

Reports the STV tonight, the man is “also accused of conspiracy to hack telephones and multiple charges of conspiracy to obtain the personal data of members of the public”.

Sheridan spent a year in prison, as part of a three-year sentence, after being found guilty of perjuring himself during a successful defamation case against the now closed newspaper, the News of the World.

At the time of writing, few other details are contained in the report, which might be updated as the evening wears on.
