Edinburgh's biggest theatre, the Playhouse, is to host an annual talent show, co-organised by the local evening newspaper, the Edinburgh Evening News.
The 3000-seat venue was chosen for the show – which is being held in association with local radio station, Forth One – following the closure of last year's venue, the smaller-sized Assembly Rooms, for refurbishment.
The final of Edinburgh's Got Talent – now in its third year – will be on October 28.
In a statement issued by the Edinburgh Evening News, editor, Tom Little, is quoted, as saying: “Edinburgh’s Got Talent has been an enormous success and was even more popular last year than its first year. It offers local talent of all types a terrific platform – and that platform will be even bigger and better at The Playhouse, which is one of the capital’s 'crown jewels' and will make the perfect stage for this annual extravaganza.”
The show will comprise ten finalists and the winner will receive both £1000 and the opportunity to perform at the Radio Forth Awards in November.
