AN awards competition celebrating the “best in new and emerging talent in the moving image industries in Scotland” has announced its shortlist.
The New Talent Awards, run by BAFTA in Scotland, are taking place on the 24th of next month in Glasgow, and among the nominations one entry alone has made into the shortlist of three categories.
Zombie Musical has been nominated in Best Producer (Short Form), Best Director (Short Form) and Original Music. – the last being a new category for the awards.
A statement issued by the organisers reads: “BAFTA in Scotland believes that the future lies in rewarding excellence in the industry, championing innovation, and above all, in encouraging Scotland to be seen as a beacon of creative inspiration and quality, and to this end the New Talent Awards are a perfect demonstration of this belief.”
It quotes chair, Ewan Angus: “These unique awards acknowledge excellence and highlight the future talent of Scottish film, television and digital media. Each year the standard of work never ceases to impress and this year is no exception, with a fantastic array of work shortlisted. My thanks go to the dedicated juries who watch each and every submission and select the best new talent Scotland has to offer.”
