A WARNING has gone out to filmmakers throughout the UK: if you are offered the chance to buy two large pieces of film equipment, called dolly tracks, beware – they could be stolen property.
Says Central Film School: “We were shooting on location in Hackney where two pieces of metal dolly track (one curved and one straight) were stolen from the property. These are very valuable and property of Central Film School. They are also extremely large and heavy pieces of equipment which can be easily identified and are not easy to transport or store. In addition, it is unlikely that they will be of any use to people outside of the film industry.
“We therefore expect that film studios/companies/schools may be contacted over the next couple of weeks by people offering these items for sale.”
