IT’S time to get snapping as Scone Palace, the crowning place of Scottish Kings, invites budding photographers to capture the magic of the historic visitor attraction by entering their BIG Picture competition.
Open to photographers of all ages, the competition is looking for the most outstanding pictures of the spectacular palace exterior and/or surrounding grounds.
The expert judging panel is led by Colin Prior, an award-winning Scottish photographer who has travelled the world, photographing stunning sights and landscapes.
Lady Stormont of Scone Palace and Alister Walker, proprietor at JRS Photo Hardware, complete the judging panel.
There will be two winners chosen from the entries, one over 16 and one under 16 and each lucky winner will be the recipient of a signed print of a photograph taken by Colin Prior, a season ticket to Scone Palace.
The over-16’s prize also includes a Panasonic camera package to the value of £750 while the under-16’s will receive vouchers to the value of £100 to spend in JRS Photo Hardwear Ltd.
Scone Palace’s Lady Stormont offered advice to those entering the competition.
She said: “Scone Palace is set in beautiful grounds which offer many ideal photo opportunities to anyone looking to take some exceptional pictures.
“Every day brings something different at the palace and within the grounds, so my advice is to take your time and you’ll soon see something wonderful to capture in time.
“This competition is a great way to encourage people to enjoy the great outdoors and get creative with their photography.
“I am very much looking forward to seeing the quality of photographs that are submitted and how well people capture the magic of the palace.”
