A NORTH-east Scottish support and development organisation is encouraging people to change their perceptions about driving successful business growth in the North-east.
Elevator is hosting two business events inconjunction with Business Gateway, to coincide withNorth-east Business Week. The week is focusing on driving growth in the business community and is taking place from 27 April – 1 May.
The first Elevator event, which will take place on Tuesday 28 April, is a free pitch-training event with magicians and training facilitators, Fifth Dimension, who will educate attendees about conjuring up the perfect elevator pitch.
The workshop, which will take place at Elevator’s headquarters situated in The Hub in Aberdeen’s Energy Park at the Bridge of Don, will also present networking opportunities with key business people.
Elevator will launch a competition at the event, giving people the chance to win £1,000 by creating and sending in their personal video pitches.
The second workshop, which takes place on Thursday 30 April, welcomes Professor Les Charm, of USA Babson College, recognised as ‘the number one entrepreneurial university in the world’, for a transatlantic video presentation about entrepreneurship.
Networking body, Aberdeen Business NetworkCommunity (ABN Community), will host a networking workshop after the presentation, allowing attendees to meet with a number of key business representatives.
Professor Gary McEwan, chief executive of Elevator, said: “Elevator have been heavily involved with North East Business Week for a number of years and we are pleased to be taking on an instrumental part once again.
“The activities on offer are perfect for young entrepreneurs starting out in business, offering them fantastic advice and support. It is also an opportunity for the local business community to get together, share ideas and get some professional advice on how to grow their business.”
Elevator, is one of the four key partners responsible for the week which celebrates the local Aberdeen and Shire business community.
The collaboration also includes: Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce (AGCC), the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and Scottish Council for Development and Industry (SCDI)
