EPILEPSY Scotland’s Edinburgh youth worker, Zoe Reid, is in line for her third national award in five years.
She has been shortlisted in the ‘Supporting the Community’ category for the 2015 awards run by UK charity, Young Epilepsy.
Zoe Reid’s performance will be judged by her peers.
She will attend the presentation ceremony at London’s City Hall with other nominees on Purple Day – on 26 March, the international date to celebrate epilepsy awareness.
Proud of Zoe Reid and of what she has achieved, Epilepsy Scotland’s chief executive, Lesslie Young, explained: “We understand that Zoe’s nomination was chosen from hundreds of applications representing individuals and organisations from all over the UK.
“This is testimony to the enthusiastic and consistently high standard of support she gives to so many people.
“We hope this excellence will be recognised and, of course, we are rooting for her!
“It’s totally appropriate the awards are on Purple Day, the day dedicated to raising the awareness of epilepsy internationally.”
Zoe Reid admits she is really humbled to be commended for this award and said: “I am over the moon that I have even been considered for this award!
“I feel like the luckiest person in the world to have this job and to have the opportunity to help and support such inspirational young people. This award isn’t just for me; it’s also for all the resilient and awe-inspiring young people I work with.”
