A BAFTA award-winning animation company is looking for talented artists, animators and composers from the Isle of Skye and across the wider Highlands and Islands.
Over the past 25 years, King Rollo Films has produced series like Spot, Maisy, Mama Mirabelle, Humf and Poppy Cat. The studio is currently developing six new projects.
Managing director of King Rollo Films, Leo Nielsen, is aspiring to have a new animation series written, animated and produced on Skye within three years.
A free, animation seminar is to be held on Skye for anyone interested in finding out more. This is a general meeting introducing the company and explaining what the team is looking for and what they hope to achieve on Skye.
Leo Nielsen says: “Skye is a magical place with a unique tradition of storytelling. I am confident there is a great pool of very talented people on Skye, and I look forward to meeting some of them.”
The initial project to identify local talent is being supported by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE).
Caroline Forsyth, from HIE, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting King Rollo Films in identifying talent based in and around Skye and the Highlands and Islands. The area is already developing a reputation for creative talent, especially with Young Films establishing their base here and the work undertaken at Fas.”
The animation seminar is organised by Honeycomb – Creative Works.
The animation seminar will be held at Sabhal Mor Ostaig on Wednesday 1st April at 6pm.
Talented artists, animators and composers are invited to come along and meet the MD of King Rollo Films, Leo Nielsen, at the event.
Please do not bring any work along for this event.
If you are an artist, an animator or a composer based in and around Skye and the Highlands and Islands, King Rollo Films would like to hear from you. Please send up to four samples of your work and your CV to Sian at sian@kingrollofilms.co.uk before 17 April 2015, and the team will get back to you.
ENDS.
