AN Aberdeen-based group has announced an investment of nearly £1.6 million in its growing portfolio of companies.
Jasmine Holdings Group – which consists of a number of strong local brands, including James Aiken Engineering Solutions, Printagraph, Jasmine Property Investments, Granite Energy Resources, Revolve Systems, Integrated Office Services (IOS) and Citrus:Mix – has made the investment in response to growing demand for its companies services.
The group has allocated £200,000 for the purchase of a new, water jet cutting machine for James Aiken Engineering Solutions. The state-of-the-art piece of kit will help enhance the company’s capability alongside reducing its current level of outsourcing.
The sheet metal and fabrication specialist is also preparing to move from its existing premises on Wellington Street to a new £1m base within Bridge of Don. The 17,000sq.ft headquarters is again part of the group’s strategic growth plan for the company and will see it benefit from increased yard and parking space as well as the ability to use overhead cranes; a service that was not possible at its current location.
Says a spokesperson: “The group has also announced that it has increased its share in print specialist Printagraph to 74 per cent, a rise from 42 per cent over the last seven years. This increase follows the recent investment in Printagraph’s technology with the addition of a new £120,000 Canon 460GT flatbed printer.
“Aberdeen-based energy recruitment specialist Granite Energy Resources has also been added to the group’s growing portfolio of companies.”
Formed in early 2014, Granite Energy Resources provides a simplistic, practical and dynamic approach to the recruitment process. With over 20 years’ industry experience, the team has a proven track record of building long-term relationships with its clients and gaining recognition for providing recruitment excellence.
Danny Cowie, group managing director of Jasmine Holdings Group, said: “This significant investment by the group into both James Aiken Engineering Solutions, Printagraph and the addition of Granite Energy Resources is part of the strategic growth plan we have in place, not just for these companies, but for the wider portfolio as a whole.
“We want our companies to fulfil their potential and we’ve acknowledged that they must be at the forefront in terms of equipment and workspace to do this. It’s an exciting time for the group, with plans for further new start-up businesses set to come to fruition in future months. We enter 2015 in a strong position and look forward to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.”
Jasmine Holdings Group was founded in the mid-1990s by businessmen, George Cowie and Neil Stewart. Since then the group has grown significantly, expanding into new areas including property, retail, the supply and maintenance of office machines and integrated communications.
The group is also heavily involved with the local community and is behind the well-known Jasmine Charity Challenge, established in 2010. The initiative successfully brings together six north-east academies, charities and the business community in a bid to encourage young entrepreneurs to improve their business skills and awareness. The total amount donated through this initiative now stands at over £225,000.
