AN Aberdeen-based reservoir engineering consultancy has reported a successful start to the year, securing two contracts totaling a six-figure sum.
Oilgen, which specialises in providing high-tech reservoir engineering expertise to forecast and improve oil and gas production, has started work on a project in West Africa for French company, Maurel Et Prom, and a contract for work in the United Arab Emirates for a global energy giant.
Oilgen, which is led by managing director Laurent Schirrer, designs 3D reservoir simulation models to rejuvenate oil fields and optimise further development using market-leading software. The consultancy also provides petroleum engineering and geo-science solutions, and advisory services to the Acquisition & Divestiture sector.
The specialist company, which has offices in Aberdeen and America, started work with French oil company Maurel et Prom in 2011, and has secured a further two contracts with the firm on maintenance work of reservoir models for the OMOC Nord and Onal oilfields in Gabon. As part of these contracts, Oilgen will also provide a reserves evaluation of one of Maurel et Prom’s new development.
Oilgen has also been appointed to provide well test analysis support for a leading name in the industry for four wells in the over the course of the year.

The specialist company recently launched Oilgen USA LLC to provide unconventional and conventional reservoir simulation services, and offer clients a full range of specialist services including EOR screening, evaluation, and implementation; field health checks, evaluations, and numerical simulation of petroleum reservoirs and reserves. This division is also helps petroleum companies acquire the best onshore oil and gas assets in America. Oilgen advisors work on acquisition and divestiture projects with strong technical input to identify deals and evaluate reserves in America on behalf of the client.
