INTEGRATED communications agency Citrus:Mix has a new managing director at the helm as the growing Aberdeen-based business prepares for the next phase in its development.
Paul Smith has been promoted to the role as he succeeds Morven Mackenzie, who remains with the firm in a strategic role and as a major shareholder and board member. She will also be working on new developments within the Jasmine Group of companies, of which Citrus:Mix is a member.
The newly appointed managing director, who steps up from the position of PR director, joined Citrus:Mix in 2012 after a 16 year career as a journalist in the local, regional and national press.
Paul Smith said: “I’m delighted to have been given this opportunity as we look towards an exciting new chapter in the Citrus:Mix story. The aim is to build on the good work which has already been done across the agency and to embrace the opportunities on the horizon.
“We are in a fantastic position as we look forward to the year ahead, with a talented and experienced team as well as a strong and diverse client base. The challenge is to continue to innovate and grow, building on the foundations we have in place.
“Morven’s support and input will be vital to the business and we are looking forward to working together with fellow members of the senior management team to drive Citrus:Mix forward.”
Citrus:Mix rounded off 2014 with five appointments across four of the agency’s departments: creative marketing, PR, digital and events. The team was bolstered in response to significant new business wins in sectors including oil and gas, retail, training and the third sector.
Morven Mackenzie said: “Paul has been with the company for nearly three years now and during that time has grown the PR department considerably, while also working with team members from across the agency on many high profile integrated campaigns.
“It is a pleasure to be passing on the baton to Paul and to be working closely with him as we implement a strategy we are all incredibly enthusiastic about. Our valued clients are at the heart of everything we do and there are undoubtedly exciting times ahead.
