Jessica McAndrew and Alice Ritchie join to bolster BIG’s digital services
SCOTLAND’S largest PR and digital marketing agency is planning for a period of growth after making two strategic appointments designed to meet rising demand for digital services.
The BIG Partnership has appointed Jessica McAndrew as digital account director, based at the company’s Glasgow headquarters.
Previously head of online marketing at Frame, Jessica will take on responsibility for developing and managing digital marketing strategies and campaigns, as well as promoting client websites.
She will work closely with BIG’s directors as the demand for digital marketing services grows, bringing with her expertise in social media, websites, email marketing, content strategy, and emerging digital technologies.
Jessica has a strong background in online marketing and PR, having also spent two years at Peach Digital as head of customer engagement. She holds a degree in communications from Wilfrid Laurier University in Canada.
Allan Barr, head of digital at The BIG Partnership, said: “Jessica brings a range of in-demand skills that will really help us grow the business and deliver outstanding campaigns for our clients. She has a superb understanding of emerging trends in digital marketing and a strong grasp of online marketing strategies.”
Jessica said: “BIG already has an excellent digital team here, with some incredible campaigns and clients. I’m excited to get involved with the business and help further expand the integrated digital offering.”
BIG has also appointed Alice Ritchie as digital account manager. Alice had previously spent more than two years at DigitasLBi, formerly Bigmouth Media, as a digital search manager. She has already started working with a number of BIG’s digital clients including Yorkhill Children’s Charity and Interactive Scotland.
These latest appointments continue the expansion of BIG’s digital capabilities. The agency now has the capacity to more than double the size of its digital marketing teams following recent investment in new custom-designed offices in Dunfermline, with recruitment already underway for new developers, designers and project managers.
Allan Barr said: “Our new studio in Dunfermline, home to our digital, design, and marketing communications teams, provides extra capacity to build on our recent momentum. We’re in a strong position to meet the demands of a constantly changing, dynamic sector and look forward to an exciting year in 2015.”
In the last 12 months the agency has launched new websites for Mackie’s Ice Cream and Chocolate, UK Steel Enterprise and Glasgow City of Science and has recently launched a major eCommerce site for The Whisky Shop, the largest specialist whisky retailer in the UK.
BIG’s digital division, originally set up in 2005, has grown into an integral part of the wider agency, delivering a diverse range of services, including website design, social media management, branding, SEO, PPC, content marketing and online reputation management.
