BEFRIENDING Week 2014 runs from 1 to 7 November and Scottish charity Health in Mind is celebrating with a drop in event for anyone who would like to know more about becoming a volunteer befriender.
Drop in and find out more at the Starbucks Community Room, 1 Palmerston Place on Wednesday 5 November from 11am until 3.30pm.
Kevin Kent, Befriending Services assistant manager said: “Come along and meet our friendly staff and talk to volunteers about their experience.
“Discover how you can make a difference to someone’s life by volunteering for just a couple of hours a week.”
Volunteering opportunities include the chance to boost someone’s social life; be yourself and help build someone’s confidence; use your language; IT; admin or event organising skills or help us to fundraise.
