A NORTH-east accountancy firm is celebrating ten years of business at its Banff office.
SBP Accountants and Business Advisors Banff branch, which is situated in the town’s Carmelite Street, opened its doors in 2004 following on from the company’s Peterhead and Fraserburgh offices, which opened in the late 1970s and 1990, respectively.
The team at Banff has grown over the years from four to six, with branch manager, Lynn MacKinnon, SBP partner, Peter Bruce, and financial advisor, Richard Evans, working with the company since the office was established. Accounts assistant, Arlene Scott, joined the firm in January 2005, personal assistant, Julie Dawson, in 2010, and accounts assistant, Liz Richmond, in 2011.
The company, which also has an Aberdeen base, proactively increases and tailors its services to adapt to client requirements by continuously expanding employee expertise.
The accountancy firm which has more than 30 employees throughout its four branches, offers a variety of tailored business and accountancy services, including personal and business taxation, as well as a dedicated business services department to cover everything including bookkeeping, VAT and payroll requirements.
Branch manager of SBP’s Banff office, Lynn MacKinnon, said: “We are delighted to be celebrating such an important milestone in the business. It is great to see original clients who have been with us since the beginning still with us, and we have welcomed a number of new clients over the years too.
“There have been a number of changes in the area over the years. With the fishing industry in decline, more people arestarting up businesses, which support the oil industry, and although we have seen a decline in our town centre we are continuing to grow and expand our own business here in Banff.
“The business has grown tremendously and we have developed new staff and services to adapt to our clients requirements. By offering a friendly, knowledgeable service to our clients we have established great client relationships with local and national businesses.
John Hannah, SBP managing partner, said: “This is an exciting time for everyone in the company and it is great to reach this momentous milestone.
“I would like to express a huge vote of thanks to all of our clients and the local community for the support we have received over the past ten years.”
