Notes for Editors:

The orchestra, made up of 18-to-25 year-olds, many of whom are students, has enjoyed remarkable success in the past year. Along with a fantastic Christmas fundraiser and their Gala concerts, the orchestra enjoyed a sell-out performance at the ‘Stars on Parade’ (2013) charity concert at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.

At this electrifying performance, the musicians not only played a wonderful rendition of all our favourite James Bond themes like ‘For Your Eyes Only’ and ‘The Man with the Golden Gun’, but also gave deeply sentimental performances of main songs from ‘The Phantom of The Opera’ and ‘Les Miserables, alongside soloists, John Owen-Jones and Sarah Earnshaw.

From their appearance on stage with soloists and a Britain’s Got Talent winner they have certainly shown us their versatile repertoire and certainly earned their reputation as a showcase for young Scottish talent.
