A LEADING reservoir engineering firm based in Aberdeen has signed a partnership with an American company to strengthen its services to clients in the global oil and gas industry.
Oilgen, which has offices in Aberdeen and America, has established a co-working agreement with US-based, Expert Energy Solutions LLC (EES) to share knowledge and resources in the field of enhanced oil recovery (EOR).
Oilgen, which is led by managing director Laurent Schirrer, designs 3D reservoir models to rejuvenate oil fields and optimise further development uses market-leading software, which allows itsadvisors to identify deals and evaluate reserves before compiling a report on behalf of clients.
Thespecialist company recently launched Oilgen USA LLC to help petroleum companies acquire the best onshore oil and gas assets in America.
Advisors work to identify deals and evaluate reserves in America on behalf of the client. This division is also a provider of unconventional and conventional reservoir simulation services.
The company is currently also working on projects in the North Sea, France, Egypt, West Africa and Holland.
EES, based in Denver, Colorado, and led by Charles Thomas, an expert in EOR with more than 45 years experience in the industry, offers reservoir engineering consultancy with a focus on EOR technology applications including CO2, polymer, surfactant/polymer, and low-salinity water injection.
The two companies will share expertise and work as agents for each other to allow both to grow in the global sector with Oilgen looking to strengthen its presence in the US and EES seeking to sign more European clients.
The association, integrating the complementary skills of the two companies, will offer clients a full range of specialist services including EOR screening, evaluation, and implementation; field health checks, evaluations, and numerical simulation of petroleum reservoirs and reserves; and acquisition and divestiture projects with strong technical input.
Laurent Schirrer, managing director of Oilgen, said: “We are delighted to have signed an agreement with Charles who has so much experience in the industry and is well respected in the field of enhanced oil recovery.
“This new joint venture will allow both companies to grow in the global energy industry and will grow our American presence while allowing EES to attract European clients.
“It is, however, important to stress that both companies will remain entirely independent and each company will only share information and business contacts relevant to potential joint projects.
“The idea is for new clients and projects to be generated that will benefit both companies.”
