STAFF members from Holiday Inn Glasgow Theatreland and Holiday Inn Express Glasgow Theatreland, together with La Bonne Auberge restaurant, are polishing up their walking boots in preparation for Walk Ten, the nationwide fundraising initiative for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The fundraising team from the hotels will walk a twilight 10k at Pollok Country Park in Glasgow’s southside on the evening of Saturday 16th August.
After completing the challenge, teams can enjoy an evening of entertainment at 10pm – the time when many Marie Curie nurses start their night shift. The entertainment, then, is timed to act as a reminder of the great work the nurses do in providing care to people with terminal illnesses and support for their families.
Leah Dow, HR manager for the hotels, said: “We are aiming to raise £500 for this great cause and the owners of hotels have committed to match the amount we raise – so please help us reach our target by making a donation on our just giving page at www.justgiving.com/teamtheatreland.”
Marie Curie Cancer Care is the UK charity dedicated to the care of people with terminal illnesses. It is best known for its network of 2,000 Marie Curie nurses who work in the homes of terminally ill patients across the UK, providing practical care and support.
