STAFF members from Holiday Inn Glasgow Theatreland and Holiday Inn Express Glasgow Theatreland, together with La Bonne Auberge restaurant, have pooled their resources to raise over £600 for their nominated charity Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The sum has been raised through the staff organising and participating in various fundraising activities, including a race night and, most recently, a bake sale, which itself raised over £100.
Leah Dow, HR manager for the hotels, said: “We’re delighted to be able to donate this large sum to Marie Curie. We work very closely with Paul Cockram and the team at Marie Curie to support them as much as we can.
“Indeed, members of our staff committee have now been to visit the Marie Curie Hospital at Stobhill to see how the money we raise gets put to good use. It was a great opportunity for our staff to see what a difference our donations make and meet some of the amazing staff that work there.”
Marie Curie Cancer Care is the UK charity dedicated to the care of people with terminal illnesses. It is best known for its network of 2,000 Marie Curie nurses who work in the homes of terminally ill patients across the UK, providing practical care and support.
