Media Release: Gold winners invited to celebrate with £2,014 Commonwealth cocktail

Kushion Cocktail 2 AMS

GLASGOW’S trendy Bath Street hang out, Kushion, is offering up an incredible prize to those who win a gold medal in the upcoming Commonwealth Games – a cocktail worth £2,014.

The sporty-inspired tipple is only available to gold medal winners and cannot be purchased; instead, medal winners and their teams have to flash their medals whilst enjoying one of the VIP tables at the popular hotspot to indulge in the strictly 18-and-over treat.

Branded the ‘Classic Champagne Cocktail’, one of the world’s most exclusive pours help make up this extravagant treat including Louis XIII de Rémy Martin Cognac, a blend of 1,200 different cognacs ranging from 40-100 years old.

To add that extra sparkle or bubble in this case to the drink, the cognac is topped up with Armand de Brignac Ace of Spades Champagne, a full-bodied champagne poured from its gold plated bottle – perfect and fitting for the gold medal winners of the Games.

Natasha Myles, manager of Kushion, said: “There’s such a buzz about Glasgow just now with the lead up to the Commonwealth Games that we decided to add our own twist with our gold-winning treat.

“We’ve created this luxury cocktail worth £2,014 which any gold winners from the Games that we’re lucky enough to welcome here at Kushion can enjoy.

“Deciding on what to include in the cocktail has been quite tricky but a great a laugh at the same time as we want to celebrate the winner’s achievements with something as special as possible. The added bonus of the £1,000 donation to the Springboard charity is the icing on top of the cake though as it’s a charity we are greatly involved with.

“We wish the best of luck of all those competing and look forward to welcoming them here for a taste of true and well-deserved luxury.”

Served in elegant Swarovski crystal champagne flutes, each gold medal winner will also see a generous donation of £1,000 made to the charity, Springboard, which works with underprivileged and unemployed people who are keen to pursue a career in hospitality and catering.

The charity looks to build the confidence of the people it works with by providing them with the necessary skills and education needed to pursue a career in the hospitality industry.

Anne Pierce, CEO of Springboard, said: “’The Springboard Charity helps young, unemployed and disadvantaged people of any age  into  sustainable employment within hospitality, leisure and tourism. We are delighted to be the chosen charity of this exciting fundraising initiative in Scotland.

“The funds raised will go towards supporting Springboard beneficiaries to help them to succeed in a career within hospitality, leisure and tourism.

By making a contribution to the vital work of the charity, The G1 Group will directly help young people, safeguard their future employment and give back to an industry that provides enjoyment to so many.”
