A HIGH-octane contemporary circus company is heading to West Dunbartonshire as more events are about to take place this summer as part of the Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme.
The nationwide Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme is celebrating Scotland and Glasgow’s hosting of the XX Commonwealth Games with more than 1,000 events taking place across the country.
Queen’s Square, Clydebank
Adding to excitement of the Queen’s Baton Relay coming to the region, high octane, spectacular contemporary circus from a new company featuring specially recruited young performers from Scotland and the Commonwealth is coming to Queen’s Square, Clydebank on Friday 18 July.
Enjoy the skills of the Commonwealth Youth Circus in a free performance beginning at 5.30pm.
Unit 23 Skate Park, Dumbarton
Blending skateboarding, choral singing and the unique acoustic of skate parks, Tête à Tête and composer Samuel Bordoli team up with skaters and community choirs for a unique performance at Unit 23 Skate Park, Dumbarton of a new piece called Grind.
Beginning at 8pm on Saturday 26 July, the performance is taking place as part of the first New Music Biennial for which 20 newly-commissioned pieces of music are being performed across the UK.
The Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme is a partnership between the Glasgow 2014 Organising Committee, Glasgow Life, and Creative Scotland through National Lottery funding.

- The Commonwealth Games is an international, multi-sport event involving 71 teams of athletes from the Commonwealth of Nations. The event was first held in 1930 and takes place every four years.
