AN award-winning North-east oil and gas industry fire safety protection company has made two key management appointments to strengthen its expert team.
Blaze Manufacturing Solutions, which won the Business Success Over Three Years category in the 2014 Grampian Awards for Business Excellence, has appointed Cara Beamish as business manager, and Bill Cunningham as the general manager of the safety critical systems division.
Blaze, which was launched in 2006, works with major oil and gas operators to design and supply fire protection systems and loss prevention services.
The company recently invested half a million pounds in new headquarters at Laurencekirk Business Park, and the firm also has an engineering office in Kemnay, Aberdeenshire, a regional project office in Great Yarmouth and southern sales office in Milton Keynes.
Ms Beamish, who will be predominantly based at Laurencekirk, has held a number of high-level management roles in the last 15 years.
As part of the Blaze management team, she will use her extensive experience to oversee PR and marketing strategies, HR, IT, administration and facilities management at the company.
Mr Cunningham has 24 years experience in the oil and gas industry, and worked latterly as a regional general manager for a major name in the industry.
His role at Blaze will focus on the company’s specialist environmental engineering services, which will take Blaze into a complementary service industry associated with the control and management of hazardous areas and module integrity.
Mr Cunningham will be based at the Kemnay office along with an additional eight members of staff.

Blaze Manufacturing Solutions is experienced in all types of fire protection systems on numerous installations including offshore production platforms, drill rigs, floating production units, onshore oil fields, terminals, refineries and petrochemical plants.
