A SPECIALIST North-east drilling services firm has made two key appointments to strengthen its support team across the globe.
Paradigm Drilling Services, which is based at Thainstone, near Inverurie, has appointed Tony Robertson as business development manager for Europe, Scandinavia and West Africa, and Craig Martin as sales manager for the UK, Middle East and Africa.
Mr Robertson, who is a graduate of BI Norwegian Business School, has a wealth of knowledge in the industry, after holding senior positions in a number of specialist drilling services companies.
Mr Martin, has over 25 years experience in the industry, and has significant management, financial and sales expertise and specialist knowledge in drill bits, coring systems, drilling turbines and a range of hole enlargement technologies.
Mr Martin also has extensive experience as a resident manager in the Middle East and Far East. In his new role, he will be responsible for growing Paradigm’s drilling services business in the UK, Middle East and Africa, including drilling tools and conventional and specialist BHA equipment.
Paradigm, which is API and ISO 9001 accredited and designs, manufactures and services all types of drilling equipment and down-hole tools, has grown rapidly in just over three years rising from three members of staff in 2009, to 48 with plans for further additions this year.
The specialist company is currently working with clients on a global basis to introduce and develop their growing range of novel drilling tools. Plans are underway for a further tranche of investment throughout 2014 with an increasing focus on their ground breaking horizontal drilling technology.

Paradigm Drilling, which is part of the Paradigm Group of companies, has a large inventory of BHA and hole enlargement equipment for rental. They also manufacture, service and repair a wide range of downhole tools and fishing equipment.
